LINC Home Study (LHS) is a language training program available to ESL learners who cannot attend a face-to-face class in Manitoba. To register, learners must:
- be registered with English Online for the Live & Learn program
- submit a Referral to LINC HS from a referral centre, issued within the last 12 months
- sign a consent form
- have minimum CLB 3/3/2/2/
- be able to meet with an instructor once per week on Skype
- be able to study on your own for min 5 hrs per week
- maintain a portfolio of language samples for assessment purposes
Once registered, learners are matched with an e-Facilitator, who will monitor and assess their progress. Learners are expected to use both the LHS and EO platforms to practise your language skills, and receive a CLB certificate.
Listen to one of our learners discuss her favourite learning options on audioBoomSkip to Transcript:
I’m an organized person, and I like to use my learning journal to write down everything that I learn, everyday so I can review it easily and see my progress.
Also, I’m crazy about Linc program – this is a great program that has modules and different lessons. Each lesson has dialogues, listening, as well as grammar part. The material there is so interesting that I want to study more and more.
In addition, every week I have 30 minutes class with my personal teacher where I can ask different questions and get all answers to them. I’m really happy that I am studying online, and I hope that you will use this chance too.
