English Online, Inc. will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 27, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Immigrant Centre on Adelaide St. This year’s AGM theme will be “On the road to greatness”. This year’s AGM is extra special as it officially marks the organization’s 10th year of incorporation.

Joining the EO team will be the Board of Directors, auditors, as well as clients/learners to discuss the organization’s achievements and challenges in the past fiscal year. It will also be an occasion to reminisce and celebrate a decade of its achievements and challenges. Refreshments will be served.

The idea of creating EO was proposed by Manitoba’s Labour and Immigration as early as 2006. With immigration growing, the agency thought of online education to increase EAL/ESL learning opportunities for newcomers to Manitoba, especially those in the regions. EO was incorporated as a not-for-profit in 2008 and welcomed its first registrants in 2009. Since then it has become a key component in the delivery of trusted settlement and English language services for newcomers to the province of Manitoba. Today, it services an average of 1,000 learners per year, with an active base of 3,000 learners in its system.
